How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Hi I am the owner Darrell Haertl, AIBD, TIBD, CPBD. I have always had an interest in home design. I started working for a builder running blueprints in high school. After drafting and then designing for 5 years I moved outside to work as a construction superintendent for 8 years. After 2 more years working in a design firm I started Design Concepts.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
The main advantage is that I have considerable construction experience that enables me to consider the cost consequences as I design. I also consider it critical to communicate with the client in a collaborative effort to provide them with what they desire.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
One.
Provide detailed directions to your location
In the Galleria area which can be approached from several directions so it is impractical to list them. On a remodel I have to go to the clients home and can do so on a new design if they desire it.
What type of payments do you accept?
Clients have always paid by check but I have the ability to add credit cards through my website if a client chooses that method.
Which areas do you service?
All of the greater Houston area including the surrounding cities. I have also provided designs for other Texas cities and Louisiana meeting with the client here and working off a survey.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
I do.
What are your hours of operation?
The business hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. I will meet with clients by appointment outside of those hours.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
That I have integrity.
What is your favorite quote or Bible verse?
I don't really have one but I believe you should treat everyone with respect and dignity so it would be something along those lines.
