American Academy of Dance is known for professional dance training in a family atmosphere. Our studios are state of the art. Celebrating 34 years in the northwest Houston community our reputation is outstanding. We begin training boys and girls at 3 years of age and continue through pre-professional technique in ballet, pointe, modern, jazz, tap, hip-hop, contemporary as well as Adult Ballet classes. Our resident performing company, Houston Dance Theatre produces a yearly elaborate Nutcracker that is a tradition for going on 32 years. Children (age 5 and up) may audition on the second Saturday of September. Houston Dance Youth Company is our award winning competition group. American Academy of Dance is staffed by professionals and committed to teaching children and enable those who want to have careers in dance. Many of our students have had opportunities to dance professionally and work in the field of dance. Houston Dance Theatre is a member of Regional Dance America.

Angela Jackson dance professionally in the US and Europe. Has taught ballet for 38 years and brings the finest staff to her school to round out a a successful program.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Our school productions are the best example of the talented students who train and perform at American Academy of Dance. The opportunities given the dancers of Houston Dance Theatre and our membership in Regional Dance America leads to college scholarships and careers in dance.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Our location is accessable to the many areas and school districts that our students come from.
